Background:
Craig Hadley received his PhD in Anthropology with an emphasis in international nutrition from the University of California, Davis in 2003. He is currently a Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow at the Population Studies and Training Center at Brown University. Hadley’s research interests lie at the intersection of population health and anthropology. Specific research issues include the causes and consequences of household food insecurity, the causes and consequences of current variation in young child feeding practices, and biosocial approaches to understanding the causes of health inequalities, with an emphasis on young children. He is currently working on projects in East Africa and in the USA all of which utilize qualitative and quantitative methods to examine determinants of health outcomes. His goals as a Health and Society scholar are to develop community based strategies to improve child feeding practices and increase food security in vulnerable populations and improve his skills in statistical modeling.
