Jennie E. Brand is Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of California – Los Angeles and Associate Director of the California Center for Population Research. She received her Ph.D. From the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 2004.
Her research centers on inequality and its implications for various outcomes that indicate life chances. This substantive focus accompanies a methodological focus on causal inference and the application and innovation of statisticalmodels for panel data. Current research projects include evaluation of heterogeneity in the effects of education onsocioeconomic outcomes and the socioeconomic and social-psychological consequences of job displacement.Journal Articles:
