Background:
Christopher Wildeman received his Ph.D. in Sociology and Demography from Princeton University in 2008. His dissertation, which was funded by the Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation, considered the impact of mass incarceration on childhood well-being and inequality in the United States. Work from this project has been published in Demography. As a Robert Wood Johnson Health and Society Scholar at the University of Michigan, Christopher plans to consider the implications of mass incarceration for population health, with special emphasis on adult, child, and infant mortality rates.
