Eran Magen, Ph.D.

Eran develops community-based interventions to prevent emotional disorders through better emotional support among community members. Eran is the research director at the University of Pennsylvania's department of Counseling and Psychological Services, where he is heading the Penn iComm Initiative, a campus-wide program for preventing and mitigating emotional disorders among students through improved emotional support.  Eran is an alumnus of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health & Society Scholars program (Cohort 6), which he joined after receiving his MA in education and PhD in psychology from Stanford University. Prior to graduate school, Eran worked as a homeless outreach specialist in New York City and served as an officer in the Israeli military.  When not writing about himself in the third person, Eran enjoys spending time with friends, playing guitar, practicing martial arts, dancing Argentine tango, hiking, drumming, and jumping over things.
