Ryan Andrew Brown is a behavioral and social scientist at the RAND Corporation and a professor at the Pardee RAND Graduate School. He conducts research on terrorism, access to care among military populations, and risk-taking behaviors among marginalized populations. Brown is an expert in qualitative and mixed methods, using combinations of ethnographic and quantitative techniques to provide insights on determinants of risk-taking behaviors in a wide variety of groups. He is currently engaged in research among homeless men living on Skid Row, as well as urban Native American youth in California. Brown earned his Ph.D. in anthropology from Emory University and a B.A. in anthropology from UNC-Chapel Hill.
