Background: David Grande is an Assistant Professor of Medicine, a Senior Fellow at the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics, and an Associate Program Director of the Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Grande’s research and work focuses on medical professionalism with an emphasis on conflicts of interest and health care for vulnerable populations. He is a founding board member of Healthy Philadelphia, an organization chartered by the City of Philadelphia focused on improving the quality of care in the health care safety net. He chaired Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter’s health transition team and is a member of the Advisory Committee on Public Health Law for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.   
Dr. Grande attended medical school at the Ohio State University College of Medicine. He trained in internal medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Following his clinical training, he completed a Masters in Public Affairs (MPA) at the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University and was a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health & Society Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania.
