Background:

Christopher McKelvey is a Lecturer with the La Follette School of Public Affairs and the Department of Economics at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he was a Robert Wood Johnson Health and Society Scholar from 2009 to 2011. His areas of specialization include development economics, applied microeconomics, labor and demographic economics, and consumer behavior.

Much of his recent research has focused on:

  • the impact of prices on household decisions,health, and in particular, the impact of health on employment and earnings,the impact of cellular phone technology in developing countries.

He earned a Ph.D. in economics in 2005 from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Christopher completed his Ph.D. in Economics at the University of California, Los Angeles.
